Containing recently published "landmark" articles in Gastroenterology, this section highlights important developments in the specialty. Each article will be accompanied with a summary, highlighting the main points of the article and providing "key practical points" to remember for your practice.      

Gastroenterology Literature Review Resident Reminders: 

This section contains clinical "pearls" summarizing practice guidelines in gastroenterology.  Topics are succinct, referenced and provide a practical guide to the adequate management of common gastrointestinal problems as well as indications, contraindications and risks of common gastrointestinal procedures.

The Gulf Coast Gut Club The Gulf Coast Gut Club Meeting Schedule:

The Gulf Coast Gut Club meets five times per year and hosts visiting professors. Guest speakers have a national and international reputation in their area of expertise. Visiting professors present a subspecialty-level lecture at the Bienville club in downtown Mobile on a Wednesday evening. The next morning they serve as the guest speaker at the University of South Alabama Medical Grand Rounds. Following Grand Rounds, interesting cases are presented and discussed with the visiting professor.
